Collins Lake

Alot of large trout and bass where caught this week. Trolling in the middle of the lake or shore fishing with green powerbait is  working at Collins lake! 

There is a big open fundraiser Derby for Young Life happening this weekend. So come and join the fun and support your local Young Life Group.  Collins lake is still planting trout and releasing our farm fish once a week!  So get ready to catch the big one… or little one. They come in all sizes! 

So here is the list of people that caught fish for the last week of April.  Carligh Conner of Marysville caught her first fish using green powerbait down by the beach.  Sweet Margaret Johnson of Newcastle caught a nice 5 3/4 lb trout using green powerbait by the dam.  Pete Henderson and Stan Morton of Lincoln caught 4 nice trout trolling in the middle of lake using flashers with hutchies and worms.  Chris Hazen and Duane Casita caught 6 trout using lures and powerbait by the dam.  Mia & Belle caught 3 trout trolling with worms.  David & Randy caught 7 bass using plastic worms and senkos by the trees.  Martha & Jesse caught a nice 6 1/4 lb trout using needlefish in Martha’s favorite secret cove.  Cheryl caught a some nice size bass fishing across the lake in the cove using worms.  Joe & Kathy Russo caught 7 nice trout using rainbow powerbait down by the dam. Chris Hazen & Duane Casita caught 6 nice trout, the largest was 7 lb trout using green powerbait off the beach.  Mark & Les limited out on bass using worms by the eastside by the dam.  Joe Russo and Jim Walden hit again with 2 limits of trout using rainbow powerbait down by the dam.  Our regulars who come up every year, Linda and Rich of San Jose caught 4 nice trout using powerbait by the marina.  Brandon caught a 7 3/4 lb trout using a Kastmaster lure by the marina.  Jackie Lazzarini of Rio Vista caught a 4 1/2 lb trout using green powerbait by site # 216.  Steve Slusher of Orangevale caught a 7 3/4 lb trout  off the bank using green powerbait.  Jason & Brian of Lincoln caught 4 nice trout using corn the old fashion way.  TJ Lacey of Oroville caught a nice big 6 1/4 lb Bass using crawdads on the east side of lake.  TJ Lacey and Family caught 15 bass total on the east side of lake.  Daniel, Robert & Doug caught a limit of trout using rainbow powerbait by the bridge.  Chad & Taylor Ericson caught 4 nice trout using green powerbait.  Amara & David caught alot of trout using Rapallas and mouse tails by the beach.  

Of course we have the Johnson family who loves to spoil their kids with a BIG BIG bowl of Ice cream!!
