This week on Tuesday F & G brought us 1,000 lbs. of trout and we also released two net pens full of trout.  Next week is a private plant with much bigger fish and it will be a double plant of 2,000 lbs. plus we will release two more net pens of trout. 

CIFFI Derby last Sat. produced many trout and the biggest overall went to a sweet local lady named Tony Milligan, hers was a gigantic 7 pounder, she used a Rapala with a worm trailing off of it!  Tom Ives took first place on stringer weight he beat Tony by a little under two pounds!

On 4/16 Gus Grimmett and his friends Tristan and Darian from San Diego hooked and netted another huge trout this week, a 6 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow he caught trolling on a firetiger Rapala!

Dave Mayer caught his 1st trout ever from shore on green PowerBait with his Papa Dave!  Don Nelson from Elk Grove limited out on trout trolling with Kastmasters.  Don & Ron came  back the next day and caught 7 more trout.  Pete Henderson & his grandsons Danny & Trevor trolled 20′ down with worms and hooked a 3 lb. and a 2 lb. Rainbow.

Mike Egan from SAC landed a 3 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow from shore near the dam on yellow PowerBait.  Little Jacob Beane used his “best hook ever” to catch his trout!  Kaylie had a nice stringer of trout she caught in the Open Area on PowerBait.  Kolby Amaral from Grass Valley caught his 2 trout on yellow PowerBait from shore in the main campground.

Bari & Ryan Barella had a very successful fishing trip as they always do!  Bari placed 9th place in the CIFFI Derby and she trolled with lures all over the lake, her stringer weight was 5 lb. 2 oz. of trout. 

Bass fishing was red hot this week and Dave Callison brought up a group of grandkids and their Bass limit of five held a big whopper around 4 lb. 4 oz.  They caught and released over 20 Bass that day on worms on the east side from their boat.  John DeSilva from Sutter fished with a bunch of kids too and they brought up a huge bucket of fish, including 15 Bass, 3 Bluegill, Crappie, and Trout.  They used nightcrawlers and moved around the whole lake including areas up near the bridge, east bank, and down by the dam.

Rachel, Joshua and Brandy brought in the only CATFISH we saw this week, a nice 7 pounder caught from their boat near the marina on worms.

Dennis Hollnagel & Ernie Borello had only 1 hour to get their fishing in and I guess that’s all they needed!!!  Dennis caught 4 trout and Ernie caught 1 trout while trolling about 20′ down using worms (they averaged 2 to 3 lbs. each)

Les & Bev Nason from SAC each landed a limit of Rainbows trolling with flashers and worms along the east side.  Their biggest was 3 lbs. and they also did some still fishing with rainbow PowerBait.  Ethan Hansard & his sister Emma from Orangevale each hooked a trout on PowerBait from shore by the dam.
