96 yr. old Les Beretta says “never give up hope” of catching the BIG ONE! A couple of days ago Les caught his biggest trout ever, a 7 pound Rainbow trout.  He  says he fishes at least three times a week because you never know how much time you have left, so you might as well enjoy it. Now those are some words of wisdom to live by!!! Les used a black and silver Rapala and trolled the far corner of the dam about 15′ down when he netted his big boy.

Art Wong trolled a firetiger Needlefish and caught a 5 lb. 10 oz. bow while his friend John Varfolomeff of Santa Rosa hooked a 5lb. & a 6lb. trout on a Kastmaster off the beach.  Josh Giordano of Bangor trolls with Needlefish and he landed a 5 lb. 8 oz. trout and 7 lb. trout 4 days apart from each other.

Cassandra Coppin “showed up” her fishing partner Dan Green with her 6 lb. 12 oz. trophy trout even though he had a nice 4 lb. 4 oz. and both were caught on a Rapala.  Tyler Harrison Sr. & Jr. had a flippin good time fishing this week from shore with a Kastmaster they caught a 5 lb. 4 oz. Rainbow, a stringer full, and another 5 lb. Rainbow!!

This week the boaters caught most of the big fish while trolling anywhere from 10′ to 25′ down, mostly on a Rapala, Kastmaster, Needlefish, Hoochie, worm & flasher.  Raylene Dagit’s 6 pounder bit a 3″ pink Berkeley worm!  Charlene Temores limited out from shore using Powerbait from shore by the dam.  Chris Hazen and Dan the man fished for less than 2 hours off the beach and each limited out on Wed.

Lori Vollmer of Napa caught her 1st fish EVER at Collins Lake, a trout on orange Powerbait.  Another 1steee was Kelden Warta of Yuba City, also a trout trolling a Rapala!  Taylor Harrison caught his 5lb. trout while kayaking and trolling a Rapala also.

We are looking forward to a fantastic spring, which will include a minimum of 3 plants a week!!!!  Two of those plants will be net pen releases and one will be a trophy plan, plus, whatever F & G puts on their schedule.
