Get a new fishing pole for Christmas?  Gotta try it out?  You need to come to Collins Lake and catch a limit of trout, they are practically jumping in the boat and that’s no lie!  I can’t lie this close to Christmas, I don’t want to eat coal if you know what I mean……

Little Trenton & Colton McCutcheon (along with Daddy & Papa) caught and released 19 trout on Wednesday.  They took home a limit and one was pretty big.  They trolled with broken back Rapalas just below the surface.  The fish are on top and the shore fishermen are using worms on a bobber or Powerbait floating and limiting out as well.

Hal Swartzlander caught the biggest trout (a 3 pounder) in front of his campsite and limited out everyday using Powerbait.  Matt & Mady George returned this week with Mike & Nathan to fish for trout and netted 19 total.  They fished off the beach using all colors of Powerbait.  Tatum caught her first trout with the help of Makaela & Winter also using chartreuse Powerbait off the beach.

Brian and his son Collin Reynolds from Sacramento caught a stringer of Trout off the beach on Powerbait.  It must have been “Dad’s week” cause we saw lots of kids this week since they are on winter break and most were with their Dads.  Daddy Thor Olson brought baby Thor along with his older sisters (Genesis & Kambria) and rented a boat for the day.  They caught 2 nice Trout and one of them was close to 2 pounds.  He left with three muddy, but smiling kids.  Well done Daddy!!
