Fall fish plants to start week of 10/21

F & G will bring in the 1st fall plant next week, we were hoping for this week but they changed it.  The chance of rain for the weekend is no longer a threat, it will be 80 for a high, perfect for camping and fishing and picnicking.   Our lake came up 1/2 foot from the last week.

Nightcrawlers worked the best for Trout this week and my interpretation of why is the fact that they are sick of eating shad!!  They are aggressively on the bite for the worms.  Jim Lewis of Fremont caught a 3 pounder from the beach on a nightcrawler.  Larry Hudson followed close behind with his 2 lb. 8 oz. Trout which he caught by the dam on worms.

The biggest Trout catch this past week was by two winos from Windsor, Ryan Barella & Dan Baker.  Actually they work for the Korbel winery, I better be nice so they’ll bring me a treat!!  Ryan & Dan trolled with worms all over the lake and caught two limits of Trout.

Domingo Lara used worms by his  campsite and was surprised to bring in a nice Catfish for supper. Jevon Jackson of Yuba City used a plastic worm from shore and caught a Bass.  Dehnel, Denver, & David brought a nice stringer of trout up for a picture (8 total) and they trolled with a Mooselock Wobbler.  They’ve been paying attention to my past reports cause that is the lure used by Jimmy Trejo & Doug Clark.

Chris Farley caught the biggest catfish this week, it weighed 5 lb. 8 oz. and he used a live crawdad in Elmer’s Cove.   Dave Callison & his friend Kevin caught & released 12 Bass  then Dave came back a few days later and caught & released 6 more Bass plus a Catfish.
