“Kids” are in the spotlight this week

This past week produced some awesome fish and LIMITS of TROUT along with lots of Catfish catches!!  The prime areas for Trout has been by the dam or by the bridge and the most consistent bait used to catch the Trout has been worms.  Powerbait is always a great alternative and the color of choice is either chartreuse or rainbow.   Dave Baker of Roseville & Taylor & Sheryl hooked 8 Trout and one CAT off the dock using powerbait or worms for the Trout and sardines for the CAT.  Shannon Sullivan of Marysville landed 2 nice Cats (biggest 7 lb. 8 oz.) by the dam using mussels or anchovies.  The next day she broke her own record with a whopping 11 pound Catfish also by the dam caught on Anchovies.

The Herrera Family from Dixon is back and have continued their Trout Trek with a vengeance!! They consistently limit out on Trout using the same method they’ve always used which is drifting powerbait by the bridge. Ken & Craig Zschach of Rohnert Park have had “daily luck” on Trout fishing on their campout too while floating powerbait under the power lines (which is close to the bridge).

Two local yokels from Yuba City, Dave Callison & his buddy Kevin had a fantastic day of fishing, each left with a limit of Bass.  Kevin hooked onto a 6 lb. female and released her back and they use plastic worms and fish up towards the bridge.

Neil & Pam Ventioner’s granddaughter Jordan picked up five Bluegills on the east side fishing from her Papa’s boat using worms. Sky Allen used powerbait from the dock and caught two nice Rainbows. Brandon Duerksen of Vacaville used live crawdads and hooked a 3 lb. 8 oz. Cat near the marina.   Cody Jellison of Chico landed a 2 lb. 12 oz. CAT on the east side near the dam on powerbait. Darrell of Alta used worms by the dam and caught a 4 lb. 8 oz. CAT. Little Tai & his Daddy (Eddie Reed) of Oakley caught two catfish around four pounds this week using nightcrawlers for bait.  Cassidy, Jacob, & Justin of SAC caught 9 Trout near the dam on purple or pink powerbait.

David, Harley, & Caleb of SAC caught a 9 lb. 8 oz. Cat and a 4 lb. Cat on the eastside.  Calin & Ethan of Penn Valley used their own concoction for bait!  Brianna Bertolin and her sister Brooke and her friend Briana of San Jose caught 2 limits of Rainbows their first day out and 4 more a couple days later.  They fish with worms from their boat (floating them off the bottom) in about 20 feet of water.

Little Robert Corona caught his 1st fish ever at Collins Lake, it was a Bluegill about as big as him!!  The Huber family cleaned up on Catfish this week, they caught 5 total and their biggest was a 6 pounder.  They used their own stinkbait by the Open Area.
