Fishing improved this week even with the warmer temperatures we saw lots of Trout as well as Bass and Sunfish.  Fishing from the docks has proved fruitful using worms or powerbait. Eric Olson of North Highlands caught his 1st (Big Fish) using green powerbait, he caught a 3 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow Trout.  Bradly Bossio of Folsom caught his 1st fish ever, on yellow powerbait from the dock.  Anthony Smolich caught a Trout  from the dock and a Trout  by the dam with a tag!  Hunter & Matt Zinkl took home 3 Trout & 2 Crappie using worms or chartreuse  powerbait.  Cameron & Samantha lugged in a 3 lb. 12 oz. Trout from Elmer’s Cove using chartreuse powerbait.

Dustin Redfern of Citrus Heights used powerbait from a boat, fishing the east bank he hooked a nice 4 lb. Trout.  Luke & Grant of Napa hooked a 4 lb. 4 oz. Catfish using worms.  Mark & Dave Zaski from Tahoe had a great trip, catching lots of Redear and Crappie on live minnows.

The Dimeola family returned for their annual campout with the Hanrihans and the youngest daughter Bailey Dimeola caught her 1st Trout.  She wasn’t too pleased about getting it close to her for the photo shoot but she was a trooper and did it anyway.   Ciara Prior fished with them also and caught Trout everyday using  powerbait on the east side from a boat.

On Father’s Day Ray Johnson caught his biggest Trout this year, it weighed 5 lbs.   Adam Fugate of Benicia fished with his friend Mike and just had to “show off ” catching a 4 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow on the east side on yellow powerbait.

The Catfish are hungry and on the prowl……..

This week Dominique Williams of Sac. hooked a 6 lb. 8 oz. Cat right off the sand beach using chicken livers and Obdulio Lopez of SAC hooked his from shore in the Open Area using frozen sardines for bait.  Andrew Mason of Rocklin netted a 4 lb. 12 oz. Cat this morning in Elmer’s Cove on sardines.

Mark Baker of Berkeley was shore fishing in the Open Area and caught a 5 lb. Trout this morning.  Tyler Higgins also landed a 5 pounder from a boat fishing under the power lines up towards the bridge.   Paul Boettcher of Concord & his grandson Colin Dunn enticed their Rainbow with red powerbait, it weighed 4 lbs.

Caleb Hanrihan & his two grandmas shared his special fishing hole and caught three Trout on the east shore.  Michael Lopez of Colorado Springs used orange powerbait by the dam and captured some nice Trout too.  Fishing was really good this week, it helps to have some “veteran fishermen” who fish it every year at the same time but even the novice fisherman or first timers did well.

Jonathan & Chris hooked a 3 lb. 8 oz. Bass using nightcrawlers on the east side.
