Our featured “Picture of the Week” is none other than Ashley Dimeola and her Grandma Pam Hanrihan! They have camped here since Ashley was a baby and this week Ashley surprised everyone with her 7 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow Trout catch from the marina dock while waiting for her Dad to bring the boat around from the launch ramp. From eyewitnesses at “the scene” they barely got that fish in the net before it broke the line. On their way out I asked her mother Heidi how their trip was and she could not say enough great things about the fishing! She said they caught so many fish they had to start throwing some back in. Ashley’s little brother Justin landed a hefty big boy Trout also, his was a 6 pounder and they both used Powerbait.
This week a lot of fish were caught drifting Powerbait by the dam per David, Dan, Liz, Bob & Vovo of San Mateo. They were in approximately 30 feet of water and they caught 15 Trout on 6/15 and 20 more on 6/16 while drifting powerbait by the dam.

Marty of Marysville caught the BIGGEST TROUT this week trolling a Kastmaster. His monster Trout weighed in at the store was an 8 lb. 8 oz. and he caught it over across the lake. Bob Johnston had a very successful week of fishing. He started out the week with a double Trout catch (4 lb. 13 oz. & 5 lb. 8 oz.) trolling dodgers and worms. Then it was a 6 lb. 12 oz. trolling at 20′ with worms and the next day he hooked another 5 lb. 4 oz. He’s a “fish magnet”!! Tom Ives of Browns Valley trolled a Rapala and netted a 5 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow near the beach.

Dale Mansfield was the only fisherman who reported catching Bass this week. He caught 2 and each of his bass were around 5 lbs. and he used live crawdads for bait. Using live crawdads is a great idea, the bass love them, they are the main forage food for bass at Collins Lake. We don’t sell them so you will have to find them along the way. Richard from Loomis trolled a pink Apex lure around the mouth of the river and hooked a 7 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow. Kelly Gibson took it to the limit ( Trout limit that is!) He trolled Ford Fenders and worms in the middle of the lake.
KUTE KIDS KORNER
Caleb Hanrihan & his cousin Justin caught lots of fish this week, they found powerbait from a boat in about 30′ of water work the best! Kylee & Savannah caught 2 limits of Trout on Powerbait along the shoreline by the Water’s Edge group camp area.

Justin & Sean found a fantastic fishing hole up near the bridge along the rock wall. They fished with powerbait and they caught 7 Trout total.
Drew, Nathaniel, & Robert found a cove near the dam and tossing worms worked wonders, they all caught fish. Josh & Gannon worked together for a limit of Trout, their big one weighed 6 pounds! Alexis Wanner & Natalie Butler charmed those Trout on the hook (2 days in a row)! They were listening to the other fishermen and drifted chartreuse powerbait in 30′ of water on the east side.

Wade & Tyler Whorton (father & son) from Petaluma are back on their annual fishing trip and started their week with a bang. They trolled a red Needlefish and limited out on Trout with a whopper that topped their stringer at 5 pounds. The next day Tyler caught 4 more Trout on worms by the dam with a 3 pounder on the stringer. 6 year old Daniel Anderson caught a 3 lb. 4 oz. Rainbow by road 6!
